The Mulvane Middle School girls wrestling team opened up their season at Clearwater last Thursday, January 18th. 
This is the first year for the Middle School to have a girls-only team and the girls are under the direction of former Mulvane graduate and wrestler Tiffany Thompson and former Mulvane High School coach Rick Langerot.
The Clearwater meet was supposed to be a double dual, but there were going to be too many open weight classes, so it turned into a Jamboree with just a bunch of matches and no team scores. Many of the Mulvane wrestlers are first-time wrestlers and the Wildcats did very well on the night, winning 22 of their 37 matches.
