MHS - Men's Soccer / September 30, 2020 By Kasey McDowell

The Men's Soccer Team grabbed their third win of the season last night as they travelled to Circle to face the Thunderbirds in an AVCTL D3/D4 league matchup. The Cats scored all of their goals in the first half as they defeated Circle 3-0 and Freshman Aiden McKee scored all 3 goals to get the hat trick. Senior Caleb Perkins, sophomore Chance Brown, and sophomore Jax Gerber all got an assist in the 3 goals. The second half was a defensive battle and the Cats held on for the 3-0 win. Goalkeeper Jesse Velota had 8 saves with 8 shots on goal.

"We did a better job of possessing the ball and working it up the field-which set up our goals. Chase Nash, Trevor Garcia, Cole Young, Ben Thorson, Ethan McElravy, and Jackson Hughes all contributed in the back-line to help Jesse Velotta get the shutout," said Coach Myers.

The Cats hosted Winfield on Tuesday, September 22nd and were blanked by the Vikings 0-5. Goalkeeper Jesse Velota finished with 9 saves with 14 shots on goal.

The Cats will host McPherson on Thursday, October 1st with the JV game starting at 5:00 PM and the varsity game following.
