July 26, 2021 By Kasey McDowell

On August 21st, Evan Landes will race in the Mulvane Old Settlers 4 mile Road Race to raise money for Jake James. Jake, a Mulvane High School graduate, member of the 2008 and 2009 MHS Cross Country State Championship teams, and US Air Force Veteran, began experiencing seizures on May 19th. The diagnosis was a malignant brain tumor. The tumor was removed and Jake is beginning radiation and chemotherapy.

Evan, an MHS graduate and team member of Jake's, University of Kansas Cross Country/Track athlete, and 2020 US Olympic Marathon Trials participant, is seeking donors to pledge a dollar amount per second he runs under 20:00. Donors also have the option to pledge a flat donation. His best time on the MOS course is 19:23. Pledges/donations can be made at: https://pledgeit.org/race-for-jake

100% of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Jake James medical fund. Please consider donating if you are able to.
