Sparks and Nolan earn 2nd Team All-League honors in the AVCTL D4 League meet.

The Mulvane Cross Country teams hosted their one and only meet for the year last Thursday, October 14th and it just happened to be the AVCTL league meet for the season. The girls varsity team had a great race and took 2nd place overall with two of the girls earning a league medal and All-League honors. Junior Reagan Sparks took 12th place with a time of 23:41.89, earning a medal and 2nd Team All-League honors. Senior Kamryn Nolan took 13th place with a time of 23:41.60, earning a medal and 2nd Team All-League honors. Anna Stahl also medaled in the JV race with a 4th place finish and a time of  25:26.02. The boys team finished in 5th place and were led by Victor Salazar who finished in 17th place with a time of 19:55.98. "Both the boys and girls teams ran great," said Coach Roderick. "Several of them had their best time of the season."

The Mulvane High School Cross Country team traveled to Trinity Academy on Saturday, October 9th for the Trinity Invitational. The meet was very competitive and the girls varsity finished in 6th place and the boys varsity finished in 7th place. "The course is not known as a fast course, but we still had some of our runners improve their times for the season," said Coach Roderick. The varisty girls were led by Leiannah Landreth who finished in 26th place with a time of 24:53.46 in the 5K race. The varsity boys were led by James Inkelaar who finished in 35th place with a time of 21:13.01 in the 5K race. The JV girls were led by Anna Stahl who finished in 16th place with a time of 29:39.72 in the 5K race.

The Cats will be back in action on Saturday, October 23rd at the 4A Regional meet at Prairie Ridge Park in Hutchinson to determine who will make it to the 4A state tournament for this year. Races start at 10:00 AM.
