The Mulvane varsity wrestling team traveled to Bishop Carroll for a varsity tournament on Saturday, December 18th to close out the schedule before the winter break. The team point finals were not available but Mulvane finished in 7th place (Washburn Rural taking 1st). Trent Moses took first place in the 145-pound weight class with 2 wins by fall and 2 wins by decision. Hunter Dietrich finished in 2nd place in the 138-pound weight class with 3 wins by fall and 1 loss by technical fall. Andy Huynh finished in 2nd place in the 170-pound weight class with 1 win by fall, 1 win by decision, 1 loss by fall, and 1 loss by decision.

The JV men and girls team traveled to Rose Hill for a tournament and the Wildcats had 3 first-place finishes, 4 second-place finishes, and 4 third-place finishes. Leiannah Landreth finished in 1st place in the girls 109-pound girls weight class, Jonah Yates finished in 1st place in the 120-pound B weight class, and Kasey Dillon finished in 1st place in the girls 126-pound weight class. Matthew Eggleston, Jericka Stiles, Tyke Creekmore, and Colten Fleming all finished in 2nd place, and Dylan Rogers, Tucker Hargrove, Maurice Fuller, and Gage Jameson all finished in 3rd place.

The men's varsity team hosted the Rose Hill Rockets on Thursday, December 16th for a dual. The Wildcats and Rockets were fairly even throughout the evening but fell 36-48. Eli Hensley (120), Mason Cooper (132), Hunter Dietrich (138), Trenton Davis (145), Andrew Huynh (170), and Ethan Irvine (182) all had wins by fall on the evening.
