The royal court for the 2021-22 winter homecoming has been announced.

The winter sports seasons are underway and the winter break is over. This means that homecoming is upon us and the 2021-22 winter homecoming candidates have been announced.

The queen candidate is Miss Bennett Cottrell. Bennett is the daughter of Fae Cottrell and Travis & Chrissy Cottrell. As a student at MHS, Bennett has participated in NHS, KAY, and SADD. Bennett will be escorted by the first king candidate, Mr. Mason Ellis. Mason is the son of Jeff and Shannon Ellis. Mason’s activities include football, basketball, and baseball.
 
The second queen candidate is Miss Lucy Daniel. Lucy’s parents are Angie Daniel-Ramey and James Ramey. Lucy has been involved in Student Council, KAY, FFA, Cheer, and Track and Field. Escorting Lucy will be Mr. Chris Ables, the second king candidate. Chris’ parents are Douglas and Maralinda Ables. Chris has been involved in NHS and Track & Field. 
 
The third queen candidate is Miss Johanna Lauterbach. Johanna is the daughter of Alexandra & Rüdiger Lauterbach. Johanna’s host parents are Dustin and Ginger Baerg. Johanna’s activities at Mulvane High School are cross country, GSA, cheerleading and debate. Johanna’s escort will be Mr. Tyson Lazier. Tyson’s parents are Raymond and Nicole Lazier. Tyson’s activities include basketball, NHS, GSA, and debate.
 
The fourth and final queen candidate is Miss Dariya MukhameJanova. Dariya’s parents are Olesya Bunina and Yerkanat Mukhamejanovand her host parents are Bryce and Mandy Moral. As a student at MHS, Dariya has participated in cheerleading, thespians, debate, and GSA. Dariya will be escorted by Mr. Jake Roderick, the final king candidate. Jake is the son of Chris and Mandy Roderick. Jake has been involved in forensics, debate, thespians, theatre, esprit de corps, NHS, student council, scholar’s bowl, and GSA.

The attendants are Tate Kerschen and Titan Hagerman. Tate is the daughter of Eric & Hayley Hunsberger O'Donnell and Jesse Kerschen. Hayley teaches FACS at MHS, sponsors FCCLA, and coaches middle school cross country. Titan is the son of Dylan and Logan Hagerman. Logan is a para at the primary school.

The homecoming festivities will be held during halftime of the Mulvane vs Andale game on Friday, January 14th.

The themes for Spirit Week this week are:

  • Monday - Pajama Day
  • Tuesday - Jurassic Jungle Jersey Day
  • Wednesday - Colors of the Wind
    • Seniors - Black
    • Juniors - White
    • Sophomores - Gray
    • Freshman - Green
  • Thursday - Animal Print or Camo
  • Friday - Green/White Day
