The Wildcats start opening week with 2 wins. McKee notches record books for career assists.

The Mulvane men's soccer team kicked off their 2022-23 season last week with a trip to El Dorado on Tuesday and then hosting the Circle Thunderbirds at home on Thursday. In the season opener, the Cats took the early lead with 2 goals in the first half. Mulvane added 4 more goals in the second half for the 6-0 win. The Wildcats were led by senior Benjamin Thorson who finished with 4 goals in the game. Junior Garrett Booe and junior Layne McDonald both added a goal apiece and junior Aiden McKee finished with 3 assists on the evening. McKee carved his name in the school record books for "career assists" as he currently has 14, and the rest of his junior and senior years to go.

Senior Alex Dial guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 2 saves with 2 shots on goal. Junior Gavin Young also got some time in the net and finished with 2 saves with 2 shots on goal as well.

The Cats hosted Circle on Thursday for the first home game of the season. The Cats took care of business with 6 goals in the first half and 3 in the second for the 9-1 win. The Wildcats were led by Benjamin Thorson who finished with 2 goals and 2 assists for 6 points.

Alex Dial guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 4 saves with 5 shots on goal.
