The Mulvane varsity soccer team host the Elyria Christian Eagles from McPherson on Thursday, September 22nd for a non-league matchup. The Wildcats and the Eagles were scoreless after the first half, but Aiden McKee (Jr.) found Ben Thorson (Sr.) in the second half for the one and only goal of the game. The Wildcats were able to hold on to the 1-0 win with some outstanding defense not allowing one shot on keeper Alex Dial.

There was no JV game on Thursday against the Eagles.

Earlier in the week, the Cats traveled to Buhler for a league matchup with the Crusaders. The Wildcats had trouble finding the net and fell 0-5. Alex Dial guarded the Wildcat's net and finished the game with 14 saves with 19 shots on goal.

The JV team participated in the Wichita Northwest tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Cats faced the Classical School of Wichita in the first game on Friday and fell 0-3. They next played Winfield and had a close match, but fell 2-3 to the Vikings. Quincy Walker and Gunner Smith both found the net for the Wildcats against Winfield. The JV boy's last game was against Campus on Saturday. It was another close game but the Cats fell 0-1.

The varsity squad is sitting at 3-6 on the season and 2-2 in league play and the JV boys are sitting at 1-6 on the season. The Wildcats will be back in action on Tuesday, September 27th as they will host El Dorado, starting at 5:30 PM at Lyle Couch stadium.
