The Mulvane Middle School football teams hosted Winfield last Thursday, September 29th for a Patriot League matchup against the Vikings. The 7th-grade boys have been improving each week and got their second win of the season over the Vikings with an impressive final score of 48-6. Several Wildcats found the endzone in the game with Taven Osborn, Jaidyn Baxter, and Fenton Smith all getting rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Jeter Tatum found Kyler Dieker for a passing touchdown as well in the game. "This group of boys continues to improve each week. We are playing more as a team these past few games and the results are good," said Beikman.

The 8th-grade boys faced a good Winfield team this week and were evenly matched until the Vikings broke the game open in the 2nd quarter and held on for the 36-20 win. The Wildcats found the endzone in the first quarter with a 10-yard pass from Grady Myers to Jack Entwisle, but that was the only TD for the Cats in the first half. The teams were evenly matched in the second half with 2 touchdowns each, both courtesy of Hays Ensley. The Cats however were not able to get the PATs to fall. "For the second week in a row, we came up against one of the best teams in the league," said Coach Beikman. "Our boys played well but could not stop their running game. Again, we battled for four quarters but just could not keep up with them."
