The MMS boys had a great week of basketball going 7-1 last week between the 7th and 8th grade.

The Mulvane 8th grade boys team is rolling through the season thus far with both the 8A and 8B squads sitting at 4-0. The 8A boys took care of business quickly against Winfield last Thursday at home with a first-quarter score of 24-4 and going into halftime up 40-10. The Cats ended the game with an 11-0 fourth quarter and finished with a 60-19 win. Wildcat guard Hudson Myers had himself a game as he dropped in 30 points with 5 3-pointers, 6 field goals, and 3 free throws. Hays Ensley also had a great game and finished with 18 points.

The 8B also had a tremendous defensive effort, holding Winfield to just 6 points in the game and zero points in the entire second half. The Wildcats finished with a 38-6 win and Breken Downs led the Cats with 10 points on the evening.

The 7A boys took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 16-14, but Winfield was able to fire off an 18-2 third quarter and the Cats had trouble catching up in the fourth, falling 22-39. Parker Kraft led the Cats with 15 points in the contest.

The 7B team was down by 4 points after the first half, but a strong second half where they outscored Winfield 30-8 got them the 37-19 win. Brock Garnica led the Wildcats with 15 points on the evening.

The MMS teams traveled to Clearwater last Monday, January 23rd, and came home with 4 wins from the Indians. The 7A team had a very close matchup with their opponent as they were tied up and halftime, but the Cats were able to scratch out a 4-point win after the final buzzer, 27-23. Parker Kraft led the boys with 15 points on the evening. The 7B team on the other hand had no issues in their game with a 40-3 dominating performance. Fenton Smith led the boys with 10 points in their game.

The 8A and 8B teams had no trouble against Clearwater as they won their games 55-15 and 40-14. Jack Entwisle led the Wildcats with 19 points on the evening in the 8A game and Breken Downs led the Cats in the 8B game with 14 points.
