The Mulvane High School softball team had only one doubleheader this past week, hosting the Augusta Orioles on Thursday. In game 1, the Orioles broke open the scoring first with 1 run in the 1st inning, but the Wildcats took the lead with 5 runs in the 2nd inning. The girls added on 3 more in the 4th and were able to fight off an Oriole comeback and got the 8-7 win. Senior Addison Mackey earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed 7 innings, giving up 7 runs, 11 hits, walking 2, and 9 strikeouts.
Jaryn Baker and Olivia Ellis both had 2 hits to lead the Mulvane Wildcats and Regan Witt had the other hit in the game for Mulvane. The Cats grabbed 3 RBIs in the game. Jaryn Baker, Olivia Ellis, and Addison Mackey each had 1 RBI for the Cats. The Cats stole 4 bases during the game with Kinley Kendrick, Blake Ferraro, Madison Phipps, and Reece Lazier all grabbing stolen bases.

Game 2 of the evening was all Wildcats as they finished with an 11-1 run rule in the 6th inning. Freshman Sophie Bruce earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed 6 innings, giving up 1 run, 3 hits, walking 4, and 2 strikeouts.
Madison Phipps, Regan Witt, and India Downs all had 2 hits to lead Mulvane. Jaryn Baker, Blake Ferraro, Addison Mackey, and Olivia Ellis had one hit each in the game for Mulvane. The Cats had 7 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps knocked in 3 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs. India Downs, Regan Witt, and Olivia Ellis also had RBIs for Mulvane. The Mulvane Wildcats stole 3 bases during the game with Madison Phipps grabbing 3 stolen bases.

The JV girls had another wild game that ended with a Wildcat 32-29 win in a single 7-inning game. The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, April 15th as they host Clearwater at home.
