The Mulvane softball team celebrates senior night in last home games of regular season. Phipps breaks school record.

The Mulvane softball team had two doubleheaders this past week. They hosted McPherson on Monday and traveled to Andover Central for a make-up doubleheader that was postponed from earlier in the season.

In game 1 versus McPherson, the Wildcats struggled a bit at the plate as the Cats fell 0-5 to the Bullpups. Addison Mackey pitched for the Cats. She tossed 7 innings, giving up 5 runs, 9 hits, walking 5, and 6 strikeouts. Makaylen Warner and Addison Mackey had 1 hit each for the Wildcats in the game.

In between the games, the Wildcats celebrated the senior girls: Avrie Warner, Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, India Downs, and Salma Garcia.

In game 2, the Bullpups had the Wildcats number as the Cats fell 5-14. Sophie Bruce got the start for the Cats. She tossed 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up 14 runs, 18 hits, walking 4, and 3 strikeouts.

Kinley Kendrick, India Downs, and Regan Witt all had 2 hits each to lead the Mulvane Wildcats. Jaryn Baker, Olivia Ellis, and Avrie Warner each also had hits in the game for the Cats. The Cats grabbed 3 RBIs in the game. Regan Witt knocked in 2 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs. Olivia Ellis had the other RBI for the Mulvane.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats made the trip to Andover Central for a couple of non-league games versus the Jaguars. The Wildcats were on a roll in game 1 as they racked up 7 hits and 11 RBIs in the 12-8 win. Addison Mackey earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed 7 innings, giving up 8 runs, 5 hits, walking 11, and 2 strikeouts.

Olivia Ellis and Jaryn Baker both had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats. Regan Witt, Makaylen Warner, and Reece Lazier each grabbed hits in the game for the Cats. Regan Witt had 1 home run in the game, her 4th of the season.

The Mulvane Wildcats collected 11 RBIs in the game. Makaylen Warner knocked in 3 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs. Regan Witt, Reece Lazier, Jaryn Baker, Avrie Warner, Madison Phipps, and Addison Mackey also recorded RBIs for the Cats.

In game 2, the Wildcats kept rolling and got the 11-1 win. Sophie Bruce earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed 5 innings, giving up 1 run, 4 hits, walking 2, and 3 strikeouts.

Regan Witt and Jaryn Baker both had 2 hits to lead the Cats. Avrie Warner, Kinley Kendrick, Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, Madison Phipps, Olivia Ellis, and Reece Lazier had 1 hit each in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats.

The Cats had 10 RBIs in the game. Regan Witt, Jaryn Baker, Makaylen Warner, and Madison Phipps all had 2 RBIs to lead the Cats. Kinley Kendrick, and Addison Mackey had 1 RBI each for the Mulvane Wildcats.

The Wildcats stole 2 bases during the game with Kinley Kendrick and Madison Phipps both recording stolen bases.

Madison Phipps stamped her name in the Mulvane High School record books in the second game as she now has 37 stolen bases in her career, topping the current record of 36 stolen bases held by Madison Bish (2010-2012). Phipps stole 14 bases her freshman year, 11 her sophomore year, 6 her junior year, and 6 so far this year with some games still left in the season.
