The Mulvane baseball team closed out the regular season with a doubleheader vs Buhler, celebrate seniors.

The Mulvane baseball team closed out their regular season on Monday, May 10th as they hosted the tough Buhler Crusaders in a non-league doubleheader. The Wildcats fell in both games to bring there regular season record to 13-7 and they finished 5-5 in league play. The Cats celebrated the seniors Trey Abasolo, Tab Creekmore, and Caleb Perkins in between games.

Mulvane fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 1-12 loss to Buhler on in game 1 on Monday.

Mason Ellis was on the hill for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on four hits and striking out two. Keaton Herd, Tyke Creekmore, and Julien Myers each contributed in relief for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity.

The Wildcats grabbed 7 hits in the game. Keaton Herd, Julien Myers, Tab Creekmore, Parker Richardson, Mason Ellis, Ian Comer, and Hunter Seier each grabbed 1 hit each in the game for the Cats. Ian Comer recorded the only RBI for the Cats.

The Mulvane Wildcats stole 2 bases during the game with Tab Creekmore grabbing both stolen bases.

Buhler jumped on top of the Cats with 4 runs in the first inning in game 2 and and the Cats had trouble generating runs and fell 1-10. Parker Richardson was on the mound for Mulvane Wildcats Varsity. The pitcher went three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking one. Julien Myers and Tyke Creekmore entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

The Wildcats grabbed 7 hits in the game. Parker Richardson, Trey Abasolo, Hunter Seier, Tab Creekmore, and Ian Comer each grabbed hits in the game for the Cats. Parker Richardson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits.

Parker Richardson recorded the only RBI for the Cats.

The Cats will battle for a chance at state next week at the regional tournament. The regional brackets should be released this coming weekend.
