The Mulvane varsity girls basketball get the first win of the season over the Rose Hill Rockets.

The Mulvane girls basketball teams hosted their first home games of the season on Tuesday, December 14th as the Rose Hill Rockets came to town for a league matchup. The varsity girls were searching for their first win of the season after four competitive games in the last couple of weeks.

The girls jumped out ahead in the first quarter with a 10-6 lead. The Wildcats outscored Rose Hill in the second quarter and were ahead at halftime 26-19. The third quarter was a defensive battle but the girls won the quarter 5-4. The Ladycats outscored Rose Hill in the fourth quarter and finished with a 40-30 win. Teagan Garrison led the Ladycats with 18 points on the evening and Ashley Young led the Cats in rebounds with 7 boards.

The JV team girls had a close matchup with the Rockets and ended regulation with a 23-23 tie. The Rockets were able to scratch up 4 points to the Cats 2 in overtime as the Cats fell 25-27. Ashley Young led the Cats with 6 points on the evening.

The C-Team girls were right in there all game with the Rockets but a tough 1st and 4th quarter found the Cats down and fell 25-34. Olivia Ellis led the girls with 8 points in the game.

The Ladycats will be back on the court this Friday as they travel to Wichita Collegiate but will be varsity only due to a player shortage, starting at 6:00 PM.
