The Mulvane girls basketball team had 3 games in one week, go 2-1 against Augusta, Collegiate, and Buhler.

The Mulvane girl's basketball team had a very busy couple of weeks with the Wildcat Classic tournament and then three games last week with a couple of make-up games, a total of 6 games in 10 days. The Wildcats hosted the Augusta Orioles on Monday and the varsity girls had a very close game that came down to just one point but the Wildcats pulled out the victory 34-33. Teagan Garrison led the Cats with 15 points on the evening and Ashley Young led the Cats on the boards with 15 rebounds. 

The JV team had no trouble against Augusta as they won the game 42-29. Kinley Kendrick had a monster game and led the Cats with 18 points. The Fr/So girls fell to the Orioles 15-28 and Isabelle Colvin led the Cats with 6 points in the game.

The Varsity team traveled to Collegiate on Tuesday for a rematch with the Spartans as they just played them in the Wildcat Classic. The Wildcats took an 18-14 lead into halftime and didn't let up as they won 36-28. Teagan Garrison led the girls with 18 points on the evening and Ashley Young led the Cats on the boards with 10 rebounds. There was no JV or Fr/So game.

The Wildcats traveled to Buhler on Thursday for an AVCTL D3 matchup and it was another shootout for the Cats that went to overtime. The Wildcats were down by one point at halftime and gained a four point lead after the third quarter. The Crusaders were able to get those four points back in the fourth quarter and forced overtime with a score of 42-42. The Crusaders won the OT period and the Cats fell 45-48. Teagan Garrison led the Cats with 20 points and Olivia Ellis broke into double digits with 14 points. Ashlyn Alumbaugh had a great night in the paint with 12 rebounds for the Cats.

The JV game went back and forth between the teams but Buhler got the edge and the 43-29 win. Jaryn Baker and Reece Lazier led the Cats with 7 points each on the evening. The Fr/So girls fell 26-37 to the Crusaders 26-37. Nora Garaikoetxea led the Cats with 6 points in the game.

The varsity girls are sitting at 7-7 on the year and 2-3 in league play. The JV girls are 6-5 on the year and Fr/So girls are at 2-5 on the year. The Wildcats will be back in action on Tuesday, February 6th as they host Andale.
