The Mulvane girls basketball team opened up their season again after the winter break with another tough game as they traveled to Wellington for a league matchup with the Crusaders last Friday. Wellington took an early lead in the first quarter going up 17-8 on the Cats. The second quarter was fairly even but the Cats were down 17-28 at halftime. The Wildcats had a tough third quarter and were outscored by 11. The girls won the fourth quarter but fell to Wellington 37-56. Teagan Garrison led the Cats with 16 points on the evening. Kamryn Nolan and Lauren Young led the Cats on the boards with 7 rebounds each.

The JV had trouble breaking through the Wellington defense all evening as they fell 14-36. Wellington jumped out ahead of the Wildcats in the first quarter. The Cats lost the second quarter and were behind at halftime 9-20. The girls had trouble getting past the Crusader defense in the second half and fell 14-36. Madison Phipps led the Wildcats with 5 points in the game.
