MHS - Track & Field / May 20, 2022 By Kasey McDowell
The Mulvane Track & Field team participated in the 4A Regional track meet this past Thursday, May 19th at El Dorado. The Wildcats finished the meet with state qualifiers in 7 events (4 girls events & 3 boys events) including a regional champion in 1 event. The girl's team finished in 7th place with 30 points and the boy's team finished in 9th place with 27 points.
Senior Bella Larraga grabbed the gold in the javelin with a throw of 117 feet and 2 inches and is the regional champion in that event. Senior Addy Whisler finished in 2nd place in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet. Senior Amber Hansen finished in 4th place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.21. The girls 4x800 relay team (Miranda Clark, Delaney Hamm, Jaida Gerber, & Amber Hansen) finished in 4th place with a time of 11:29.03.
On the boy's side, senior Jacob Duncan finished in 2nd place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.59. Senior Chase Nash grabbed 3rd place in the discus with a throw of 146 feet 6 inches. The boys 4x800 meter relay team (Jacob Wilson, Jacob Duncan, Matthew Eggleston, Victor Salazar) finished in 3rd place with a time of 9:04.42.
