The Varsity and JV volleyball teams traveled to Augusta last Tuesday, August 30th for a triangular with the Orioles and the Circle Thunderbirds. The varsity squad had a competitive match against Augusta, but fell 1-2 (25-23, 16-25, 22-25) and were able to take game 1 of the match against Circle, but fell 1-2 (25-23, 12-25, 8-25) against the Thunderbirds. "We are right there," said Coach Matt Schmidt. "We are so close to putting it all together and I was very proud of how the girls played tonight."
Senior Emily Schmidt led the team on the evening in kills with 13 and also had 3 aces. Senior Karlie Kanaga had a great evening with 28 digs in the libero position. Senior Avery Clasen led the team in blocks on the evening with 6. Junior Ashlyn Alumbagh had a solid evening with 15 assists and 11 digs. Freshman Charli Richardson led the team in assists with 19.

The JV girls and new JV coach Jennifer Long kicked off their 2022-23 season at Augusta and got their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over the Orioles. The girls fought hard and had a couple of close and intense games against the Circle Thunderbirds but fell 0-2.
----------The C-team kicked off their season at home on Thursday, September 1st with a quad against El Dorado, Wellington, and Collegiate. The Cats faced El Dorado first and the girls were hitting on all cyinders for the 2-0 win (25-3, 25-12). The girls continued their momentum against Wellington and took 2 games for the win (25-5, 25-20). The Wildcats finished the evening with a 2-0 (25-13, 25-22) win over Collegiate to go 3-0 in the quad.
----------The varsity and JV teams will be back on the court on Tuesday, September 6th at Clearwater and the C-Team will be back on the court on Thursday, September 8th at Buhler.
