A busy week for the MMS girls as they have three home games in the week. 7th girls continue their dominance on the year.

The Mulvane Middle School girls had a very busy week with 3 home games, including the final home game of the season, a make-up game from earlier in the year, and two regularly scheduled contests. The Cats hosted the Winfield Vikings on Thursday, December 1st, and the 7A girls continued their dominance as they defeated Winfield 28-9 to remain undefeated. Brae Heckathorn led the Cats with 9 points on the evening. 

Isabelle Colvin led the 8A girls with 4 points in the game and Braylinn Curtis finished with 3 points as they Cats fell to Winfield 7-19. The game was tied 6-6 going into halftime, but Winfield was able to break the game open in the second half by outscoring the Cats 13-1.

The 7B team had no trouble against Winfield as they won the game 19-3. The Wildcats jumped out ahead in the first half with a 10-2 lead at halftime. Winfield was not able to hang with the girls in the second half and the girls got the 19-3 win. Haylynn Jones led the Wildcats with 8 points on the evening.

The girls hosted Clearwater on Tuesday, November 29th, and the 7A team took care of business as they kept Clearwater at bay all game long. The Wildcats took the lead during the first half, going into halftime up 24-4. Clearwater was not able to hang with the girls in the second half and the girls got the 47-14 win. Brittani Peschel and Kaitlyn Paul led the Cats with 12 points each in the game.

Braylinn Curtis had a great game in the 8A matchup and finished with 21 of the girls 27 points, but the Cats couldn't quite catch up with the Indians, falling 27-37. Colvin, Blake, and Cole dropped in 2 points each as well.

The 7B team had no trouble against Clearwater as they won the game 28-3. The girls jumped out ahead in the first half with a 12-2 lead at halftime. Clearwater was not able to hang with the Cats in the second half and the Cats got the 28-3 win. Maddy Murray led the Cats with 10 points on the evening.

The Cats hosted the Ark City Bulldogs on Monday, November 28th in a make-up game from earlier in the season. The 7A girls had a strong defensive game, holding Ark City to just 4 points, winning 33-4. Brae Heckathorn led the girls with 11 points and Brittani Peschel dropped in 9 points as well.

The 8A team was neck-in-neck in the first half, but a tough 3rd quarter found the Cats behind and unable to catch up as they fell 16-25. Braylinn Curtis led the Cats with 8 points in the contest.

The 7B defense was too much for Ark City as they held them to only 2 points all game. The Cats came away with the 27-2 win. Maddy Murray led the Cats with 13 points on the evening.

The 7th-grade girls are both undefeated still and the 8th girls are sitting at 1-10 on the season. The girls will finish up the regular season next week as they travel to Ark City and Wellington to wrap up the regular season games, then the Patriot League tournament will be the following Saturday.
