The Mulvane baseball team celebrated senior night in final home games of season, split against the Crusaders.

The Mulvane baseball team wrapped up their regular season on Monday as they hosted Wellington in a non-league double header. The Cats jumped out ahead in the first game with 5 runs in the first 3 innings and held on for a 6-1 win.

Grey Sanders earned the win for the Cats and the first win of his varsity career. He tossed five innings, giving up one run, four hits, walking three, and eight strikeouts. Nolan Fevurly relieved and pitched two innings and gave up zero runs on two hits and one strikeout.

The Cats as a team collected 7 hits in the game and Manny Myers and Parker Richardson both had 2 hits to lead the Cats. Garrett Olson, Brady Nelson, and Lucas Sorensen all had one hit each for the Wildcats. Parker Richardson, Garrett Olson, and Lucas Sorensen each knocked in an RBI for the Wildcats. Brady Nelson grabbing the only stolen base in the game.

In the nightcap, the Crusaders jumped ahead in the first inning and added on a few more runs in the 5th and 6th inning. The Cats scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th and almost made the comeback, but fell 3-4. 

Julien Myers made the start for the Cats and pitched five innings, giving up three runs on six hits and three strikeouts. Nolan Fevurly pitched one inning and Tyke Creekmore pitched one inning giving up zero runs and one strikeout.

Mulvane as a team grabbed 5 hits in the game and Brady Nelson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits. Nolan Fevurly, Trenton Davis, and Aiden Heckathorn each had one hit in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Aiden Heckathorn knocked in two runners to lead Mulvane in RBIs and Trenton Davis had the only other RBI for Mulvane.

In between the games, the Cats celebrated Senior Night and acknowledged the 4 seniors on the team: Parker Richardson, Julien Myers, Trenton Davis, and Tyke Creekmore.


The Wildcats finished their season with an 8-12 record and 3-7 in league play, finishing in 5th place in AVCTL D3. The Cats will find out their regional opponent and location this weekend. The JV team finished their season with a 15-7 record.
