Phipps hits 2 home runs as the softball team improves to 4-0 on the season with sweep of the Crusaders.

The Mulvane softball team improved to 4-0 on the season as they traveled to Buhler for an AVCTL D3 matchup and swept the Crusaders in the doubleheader. In game 1, the Wildcats broke open the game in the third inning as they scored 9 runs and added 4 more runs in the next two innings for the 15-3 run-rule win. Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed five innings, giving up three runs, four hits, walking two, and had eight strikeouts.

The Wildcats had 9 hits in the game. India Downs, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, Avrie Warner, and Regan Witt each had hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. India Downs, Madison Phipps, and Jalin Lavers all had 2 hits to lead Mulvane. Madison Phipps had 1 home run in the game.

The Wildcats grabbed 11 RBIs in the game. India Downs, Madison Phipps, Emma Kendrick, Avrie Warner, Regan Witt, and Makaylen Warner each had RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. India Downs, and Madison Phipps all had 3 RBIs to lead Mulvane.

The Cats stole 3 bases during the game with Madison Phipps grabbing all 3 stolen bases.

The Wildcats wasted no time in game 2 as they racked up 9 runs in the first 3 innings and scored 11 more runs in the 6th inning for a 21-4 run-rule win. 

Peyton Baggett earned the win for the Cats. She tossed three innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, walking zero, and four strikeouts. Addison Mackey came in and pitched three innings as well, giving up four runs, five hits, walking one, and two strikeouts.

Mulvane collected 16 hits in the game. Madison Phipps, Avrie Warner, Jalin Lavers, Olivia Ellis, Addison Mackey, India Downs, Amber Hively, Emma Kendrick, Makaylen Warner, and Regan Witt each collected hits in the game for the Mulvane Wildcats. Madison Phipps and Olivia Ellis both had 3 hits to lead the Wildcats. Madison Phipps had 1 home run in the game.

Mulvane grabbed 20 RBIs in the game. Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Olivia Ellis, Addison Mackey, India Downs, Amber Hively, Emma Kendrick, Makaylen Warner, Regan Witt, and Peyton Baggett each collected RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Madison Phipps knocked in 4 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs.

Mulvane stole 2 bases during the game with Madison Phipps and India Downs both recording stolen bases.
