The Mulvane softball team had 4 games in 2 days, go 2-2 in Augusta early tournament.

The Mulvane softball girls had a busy couple of days as they played 4 games on Friday and Saturday as part of some extra games they picked up this season in Augusta. The Wildcats went 2-2 in the games with wins over Goodland and El Dorado and losses against Augusta and Circle.

In the last game on Saturday, the Cats faced Goodland and the Wildcats wasted no time, scoring 11 runs in the first inning and capped off the game with 6 more in the 3rd for a 3-inning run rule. Mackey earned the win for the Wildcats and threw her first no-hitter of the season. She tossed 3 innings, giving up 0 runs, 0 hits, walking 1, and 4 strikeouts.

Mulvane finished with 12 hits in the game and Addison Mackey went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cats in hits. Kinley Kendrick, Madison Phipps, Makaylen Warner, Reece Lazier, Rhyan Parsons, and Olivia Ellis all had hits in the game for the Wildcats.

Mulvane grabbed 14 RBIs in the game and Olivia Ellis knocked in 4 runners to lead the Cats in RBIs. Makaylen Warner, Addison Mackey, Kinley Kendrick, Madison Phipps, Reece Lazier, and Gracyn Crow each collected RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats.

The second game on Saturday was against El Dorado and the Cats got down early, but rebounded in the 3rd inning scoring 6 runs. El Dorado made a comeback in the 5th inning to take a 1-run lead until junior Regan Witt smashed a grand slam in the 7th inning to get the Cats up 15-12 and the girls held on for the win. Freshman Sophie Bruce earned the win for the Wildcats. She tossed 6 innings, giving up 12 runs, 5 hits, walking 9, and 5 strikeouts. Mackey pitched the last inning and got the save for the Cats.

The Cats collected 12 hits in the game. Jaryn Baker, Blake Ferraro, Regan Witt, Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, Olivia Ellis, and Gracyn Crow each collected hits in the game for the Cats. Regan Witt had 1 home run in the game.

The Cats had 12 RBIs in the game and Regan Witt knocked in 4 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs. Madison Phipps, Addison Mackey, Gracyn Crow, Jaryn Baker, and Olivia Ellis each had RBIs for the Cats.

The first game on Saturday was against the Augusta Orioles and the Wildcats found themselves down by 3 runs after the first couple of innings. The Wildcats got a couple runs back, but the Orioles were able to secure the 8-4 win. Sophie Bruce got the start for the Cats and pitched part of the first inning giving up 2 runs, 0 hits, walking 5, and 1 strikeout before Mackey came in for relief. Mackey finished the game pitching 5.2 innings, giving up 6 runs, 7 hits, walking 0, and 2 strikeouts.

The Cats grabbed 4 hits in the game and Madison Phipps went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Mulvane in hits. Addison Mackey and Olivia Ellis had the other 2 hits for the Wildcats.

The Cats had 3 RBIs in the game and Madison Phipps, Makaylen Warner, and Jaryn Baker all had 1 RBI each for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats had one game on Friday against the Circle Thunderbirds in what would turn out to be an incredibly windy & dusty, miserable game conditions. The Cats fell to Circle 0-5.

Addison Mackey got the start for the Cats and pitched 5 innings giving up 3 runs, 5 hits, walking 3, and 3 strikeouts. Sophie Bruce pitched 1 inning, giving up 2 runs, 2 hits, walking 1, and 0 strikeouts.

The Cats collected 3 hits in the game and Addison Mackey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. Madison Phipps had the only other hit for Mulvane.
