The Mulvane softball team hosted Winfield and Rose Hill last week, sweep the Vikings and split with Rockets.

The Mulvane softball team hosted the Winfield Vikings and Rose Hill Rockets last week in a pair of non-league and league matchups. The Cats swept the Vikings 7-0 and 5-4 and split with the Rockets 4-6 and 6-4 to bring their record to 6-4 and 1-3 in league play. The JV team swept the Viking as well 5-0 and 10-9 to bring their record to 6-0 on the season.
The Wildcats jumped out ahead of Winfield in game one with 3 runs in the first inning and didn't look back as they won 7-0. Jalin Lavers earned the win for Mulvane. She tossed seven innings, giving up zero runs, four hits, walking two, and ten strikeouts.
The Cats had 11 hits in the game. Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, India Downs, Jalin Lavers, Avrie Warner, Olivia Ellis, and Madison Phipps each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, India Downs, and Avrie Warner all had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats.
The Cats grabbed 7 RBIs in the game. Addison Mackey, Makaylen Warner, Avrie Warner, Madison Phipps, and Peyton Baggett each had RBIs for the Wildcats. Makaylen Warner, and Avrie Warner all had 2 RBIs to lead the Wildcats.
Mulvane stole 7 bases during the game with Addison Mackey , Jalin Lavers , Avrie Warner , Olivia Ellis , and Madison Phipps all grabbing stolen bases.

In game 2, the teams were tied 4-4 until the 6th inning when the Cats were able to score 1 run and hold on for the 5-4 win.
Mulvane grabbed the lead in the sixth inning. Mulvane's biggest inning was the fourth inning where they scored 4 runs in the inning. Peyton Baggett made the start for the Cats and pitched four innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, and three strikeouts. Jalin Lavers earned the win for the Cats. She tossed three innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, walking one, and two strikeouts.
The Cats had 9 hits in the game. Peyton Baggett, Madison Phipps, Jalin Lavers, Emma Kendrick, Olivia Ellis, India Downs, and Addison Mackey each had hits in the game for the Wildcats. Peyton Baggett and Madison Phipps both had 2 hits to lead Mulvane.
The Cats collected 2 RBIs in the game. Peyton Baggett and Emma Kendrick both had the only RBIs for Mulvane. Peyton Baggett and Emma Kendrick both had 1 RBI to lead Mulvane.

One six-run inning was all Rose Hill needed to hold on to the win over the Cats in game one. The Cats held them scoreless in the other six innings but could only muster up four runs for the 4-6 loss. Jalin Lavers pitched for the Cats, giving up six runs on eleven hits, four walks, and twelve strikeouts.

In game two, the teams were tied until the fourth inning when the Cats scored three runs and held on to the 6-4 win. Baggett earned the win for the Mulvane Wildcats. She tossed six innings, giving up four runs, nine hits, walking zero, and two strikeouts.
The Cats collected 11 hits in the game. Madison Phipps, Makaylen Warner, Olivia Ellis, Avrie Warner, and Jalin Lavers each collected hits in the game for Mulvane. Madison Phipps and Makaylen Warner both had 3 hits to lead the Cats.
The Cats collected 4 RBIs in the game. Makaylen Warner and Jalin Lavers both collected the only RBIs for the Mulvane Wildcats. Jalin Lavers knocked in 3 runners to lead the Wildcats in RBIs.
